Senior Multi Skilled Operative
Are you a skilled tradesperson ready to take your career to the next level?
Join Cheltenham Borough Council’s Housing Services as a Senior Multi Skilled Operative and become part of a team that’s committed to delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance across our housing stock.

What You’ll Be Doing:
– Carrying out a wide range of multi-trade repairs in both occupied and unoccupied homes
– Delivering high standards in carpentry, plumbing (non-gas), roofing, bricklaying, and general building works
– Supporting junior tradespeople, trainees, and apprentices with guidance and training
– Ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused service delivery
– Using a PDA to manage tasks and communicate effectively with the team
– Contributing to safeguarding and tailored services for vulnerable tenants

What We’re Looking For

– Proven experience in multi-trade work
– Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
– Confidence using digital tools (e.g., PDA)
– A proactive, professional attitude aligned with our organisational values: Own it, Think ‘Nolan’, Develop our learning, Think future

Desirable Extras:
Experience in social housing.
CSCS card holder.
Willingness to work flexible hours and undertake further training.
